Mary Rozzi is an American director and photographer based in Los Angeles and London.  She spent a decade in Paris, where she refined her visual point of view in collaborations with luxury lingerie brand La Perla and shooting campaigns for Ferragamo, Yves Saint Laurent and L’Oreal.   Rozzi’s extensive celebrity experience includes portraits of Lupita Nyong’o, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, and Jessica Chastain. In 2017, Rozzi created and launched The September Issues, a biannual publication of all women-contributors as a challenge to conventions in beauty and fashion with thought provoking politically and socially aware content.  “The September Issues is my campaign for uninhibited creativity and integrity. I launched it as tangible space where I could make the kind of work I was craving to do and also, to witness others doing it. It’s a collection of diverse ideas and voices that are strong, creative, empowered, yet under-represented in the mainstream.”  Rozzi’s love of music and performance is seen in film projects for musical artists Feist (“Pleasure”, Look at What the Light Did Now) and tour visuals for Lia Paris. Her short film “Poba,” for Nowness, is a portrait of street dance pioneer Shawn Théagene and mixes captivating VO recollections of gang life and salvation through dance. It was recently an official selection at the New York Independent Film Festival.  Rozzi is fluent in French and Italian and is a fifth generation trained pyrotechnic in her family business.
